You want to get healthier, but you have no clue how to get started. You would like to do a sport, but you have not yet decided which sport you like best. Luckily there is a sport for everyone. Since there are so many options to choose from, here are some ways for you to narrow down what you would truly like to do.
Indoor or outdoor?
First you have to decide whether or not you are an indoor or outdoor person, or maybe you like both. A few outdoor sports are: bootcamp, swimming in natural waters (yes, even in winters), running, walking, biking, athletics, tennis, survival run, but also kiting, horse riding, surfing, diving, rock climbing and so many more. There are sports that are usually indoors: gymnastics, swimming in a pool, judo or karate, fitness, squash, and more. And of course, there are sports that are sometimes indoors and sometimes outdoors: volleyball, soccer, dancing, korfball, basketball, skiing, jumping on a trampoline, capoeira, tai chi and so on.
Would you like to meet new people and be part of a team? Maybe new friendships will arise? Do you need others to motivate you? Do you enjoy company? Or do you rather do something single, so that you do not have to feel embarrassed when you are not that fit yet?
Sport club or at home?
Then you have to decide whether or not you want to go somewhere, or if you rather work-out in the comfort of your own home? Do you want the tv to guide your exercises? In that case there are many apps to download, or cd’s to buy. Or maybe you love to do Just Dance? Perhaps you are more the type of person that exercises now and then (for example, dancing under the shower, or stretching quickly when you come out of bed)?
